1. Visit the Official Start Page 🌐
- Open your browser and go to https://www.ledger.com/Start
- Look for the green padlock 🔒 and verify you’re on the official site
- Bookmark the page 🔖 so you can return safely anytime
2. Choose Your Platform 💻📱
The start page auto‑detects your device, but you can manually pick:
- Windows (64‑bit & 32‑bit) 🖥️
- macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon) 🍏
- Linux (AppImage, DEB, RPM) 🐧
- Android (Google Play) 🤖
- iOS (App Store) 🍎
Click “Download” or “Get” to grab Ledger Live for your system.
3. Install Ledger Live 🛠️
Desktop Installation
- Run the downloaded installer
- Follow on‑screen prompts
- Launch Ledger Live once setup finishes
Mobile Installation
- Open the App Store or Google Play
- Search “Ledger Live”
- Tap Install or Get
- Open the app when ready
4. Launch & Get Started ▶️
- Open Ledger Live and click “Get Started”
- Select your device:
- Ledger Nano S
- Ledger Nano S Plus
- Ledger Nano X
- Choose between:
- Initialize as new device ✨
- Restore from recovery phrase 🔄
- Complete the Genuine Check to verify your device’s authenticity ✔️
- (Optional) Set a local password 🔑 to lock Ledger Live
5. Initialize or Restore Your Device 🔄
Initializing a New Device
- Connect your Ledger via USB (or Bluetooth for Nano X) 🔌
- Choose a PIN on the device keypad 🔢
- Write down your 24‑word recovery phrase on the provided sheet 📝
- Confirm your phrase by selecting words on the device screen ✅
Restoring from a Recovery Phrase
- Enter your 24‑word phrase using the device buttons 🔠
- Set a new PIN once accepted 🔢
- Verify phrase if prompted ✔️
6. Add Your Crypto Accounts ➕💰
- In Ledger Live, go to “Accounts”
- Click “Add Account”
- Select the asset (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) ₿
- Install the corresponding app on your device when prompted 📲
- Approve installation on the device ✅
Repeat for each currency you want to manage.
7. Send & Receive Funds 🔄
- Receive: Click “Receive”, choose an account, verify the address on your device, then share it. 📩
- Send: Click “Send”, enter recipient address and amount, confirm on device, and approve. 💸
